( Status ) I still own this costume.

( Construction Notes ) This costume may look simple, but it was so time consuming from all the little details. The top I used bright yellow crepe back satin in a shawl robe pattern and white crepe back satin circular ruffle edging. The mini skirt and headband is purple crepe and the belt is white pleather with three silver buckles. The gloves were originally white satin opera length gloves that I gradient dyed using three different colors. My boots were white platform knee highs that I also gave a gradient look using three different colors of floral spray paint. Since I couldn't use real feathers for the 'feathered' parts because they could be easily damaged, I instead used petals from fake flowers which were trimmed and painted with several shades of acrylic paint and glazed with sparkle varnish. I then attached them in a random order to a ribbon band that velcros around my arms and legs.  I used my natural hair for part of the ponytail, but also added a banana clip ponytail and a meticulously braided extension using loose braiding hair in a matching shade attached to a piece of black bias tape. The hair beads are painted wooden beads strung on to each tail and hot glued into place. I am very proud of my braid extensions because they were such a task and turned out so well!
